Tearaways are ideal with woven, non-stretch fabrics and are temporary. The fabric becomes stabilized during embroidery and after stitching is completed, the excess stabilizer is torn away from the design. Tearaways are an excellent choice where the backside may be exposed or where the stabilizer may be hard to trim once the design is finished. For example, a tote bag that you can not easily get to the inside to trim.
